Pha Ngern Viewpoint

Not to be confused as there are three viewpoints in Pha Ngern mountain: Silver Cliff (also called Pha Ngern Silver Cliff), lower Pha Ngern viewpoint and the highest Pha Ngern. They are not easy hikes but definitely worth doing on a clear day to have impressive and outstanding views from the tops.

Blue Lagoon 3

From Vang Vieng centre town, it takes about 1 hour by either motorbike or tuk-tuk to Blue Lagoon 3. There are three lagoons in Vang Vieng but this one is the quietest and less crowded. The highlight of this lagoon is the swing and zipline over the water. However, there are still many other things for you such as bamboo raft, tyre tubes and kayaks.

Tham Loup & Tham Hoi Caves

Tham Hoi is a long thin cave that has around 3km underground to a lake and considered the most sacred to locals here with a Buddha statue near the entrance while Tham Loup is a large and stunning untouched cavern with some outstanding stalactites. Both caves are interesting and feature with various stalactites and stalagmites in different shapes.

Wat Xieng Thong

Also known as the Golden City or Golden Tree Monastery, Wat Xieng Thong is the most popular historically significant and impressive wat of this city in particular and Laos in general. This beautiful and richly decorated wat was built in 1559 by King Setthathirath in the Mekong river’s banks.

Elephant Village Sanctuary

Elephant Village Sanctuary is a great place to let you an opportunity to explore how well the elephants are being treated and have a closer look at this magnificent and gentle animal. In 2003, this village was set up and now it is owned by a group of passionate Lao nationals. There is an option of riding elephants but you can choose not to do it due to ethical standards.

Kuang Si Falls

Kuang Si Falls (also spelt Tat Kuang Si or Kuang Xi) is located in Northern Laos and tucked away in the lush tropical jungle near the Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Center. It is around 50 minutes from Luang Prabang centre to this majestic waterfall and you are able to book a tuk-tuk to visit it.
